Phil Bartlett

President, Global Inclusivity & Diversity Lead

Culture is everything, which is why Phil has put so much emphasis on building an inclusive, cohesive and connected working environment since he joined CDM London in the early spring of 2014. Coming from a background in behavioural science, Phil believes that it's only when people feel they can be truly authentic that they can do their best work – something our clients see and feel every day.

Along the way, Phil has stepped forward and stood up for equality and diversity, speaking on gender equality and modern, forward-thinking leadership across Omnicom and the wider industry. Phil’s allyship in D&I has been recognised in the industry in recent years by the IPA, Campaign and Marketing Week.

Having spent over 20 years working with major health and wellness brands, Phil's experience boasts some of the biggest names around – from Viagra, Crestor and Humira in Rx, to Coca-Cola and J&J in consumer health. Over the years, Phil has learnt from valuable experiences (and a few mistakes!) at McCann, Saatchi, Ogilvy and Grey.

Julia Straker

Managing Partner

Julia’s background as a strategic thinker, coupled with her ability to inspire and lead teams, and her sense of objective pragmatism (which she attributes to her northern roots), have shaped her journey to become Managing Partner of CDM London. With one finger always on the pulse of our clients’ needs, she’s able to guide how the agency aligns its talent and evolves its offer, so that we can solve our clients’ business challenges in the most effective and impactful ways.

Having completed a BSc in neuroscience and pharmacology, and a master’s degree in business, Julia has been a rising star from the start of her career on the DAS Accelerate marketing graduate programme. She then cut her teeth as a strategic planner at TBWA\WorldHealth before moving to set up the strategy department at PAN Unlimited and becoming the Head of Strategic Planning at CDM London in 2015.

Whether it’s new brand launches or late-stage lifecycle management, Julia brings extensive experience across multiple therapeutic areas. But her greatest motivation is in building the type of partnerships that bring satisfaction to all – when the work is great, and you have fun along the way.

jonny smith

Finance Director

It's a cliché to say that there is more to finance than numbers. But Jonny's commitment to seeking and extracting the ambitions and core values of his colleagues and clients demonstrate his desire to make sure that the figures work for the company – not the other way around. Having built strong teams spanning both CDM Barcelona and London, Jonny is now focussed on continuing to promote CDM London's culture of connectivity and cohesion.

The rigour and insight he obtained in his 5 years in practice have been seamlessly transferred over into industry. After spending time in consumer advertising before moving into healthcare, he found himself surrounded by big thinking and creative-minded professionals that have provided him with the best platform to fully explore his talents.
